About Us

TRACKLOK LTD believes the way to better building practices is through logic and compliance.

Our core philosophy of saving lives, property and assisting business continuation has led us to develop the TRACKLOK® and GRIDLOK® range of products. This range of pre-engineered, off the shelf products enables architects, designers, structural engineers, construction companies and installers to mitigate the risk on non-structural failure in commercial buildings. The TRACKLOK® system for walls and the GRIDLOK® system for ceilings are perfect examples of applying logic, innovation and best practice to mitigate risk and improve building resilience.

TRACKLOK Ltd strives to work with like-minded industry leaders who support and distribute TRACKLOK® nationwide. We are an active member of the AWCI as we believe that our participation in this proactive organisation will help to build a better industry governed by sensible codes of practice.

Tracklok® Story

In 2013 following the devastating seismic sequences in Christchurch, New Zealand, the founders of TRACKLOK® Ltd saw the need for an easy to install bracing system to secure part height partition walls.

Much of the damage to non-structural elements was created from walls and ceiling systems being connected and seismic loads creating significant failures.

The prototype connection for part height walls has become the ubiquitous TRACKLOK® Range – used throughout New Zealand, Australia and recently USA.

Shortly after the formation of TRACKLOK® Ltd on 11th October 2013, the first provisional patent  application was lodged as patent application 616564. This matured into a patent family for the TRACKLOK® range of brackets including US patent number 9869085.

All patents mentioned in our IP schedules can be found at www.lok-ip.com

Following on from TRACKLOK® for wall systems, the development of GRIDLOK® for ceiling systems achieved US design patents and an Australian standard patent.

“Testing Matters” and “Follow the Engineering” are the cornerstones of TRACKLOK® Ltd’s product development philosophy.

Vertical deflection requirements for some commercial projects, led the team to develop TRACKLOK® FLAT as an immediate solution to this issue, while work was carried out diligently in the background on a TRACKLOK® based solution.

In 2014 the development team worked on the top connection portion of TRACKLOK® to endeavour to account for vertical deflection, the idea being that only alternative top connectors would be required, making this a cost effective solution – unfortunately, this was not successful.

In 2017 work on the modifying the stem or shaft of the TRACKLOK® unit to cater for vertical deflection was carried out, resulting in a number of versions, including a telescopic stem and a fixed stem with a sliding fly plate.

After two years of development, testing and following the engineering, DEFLOK® was ready for the market. On the 14th May 2019 provisional patent applications 753507 and the second New Zealand patent application 753529 were filed. These two patent specifications were combined on 7th April 2020 into a single New Zealand patent specification number 763323.

We continue to work with industry partners, global testing and accreditation facilities to ensure all new product developments and iterations continue to improve resilience in the built environment, to protect lives and business continuation.

Each of the above patent documents have been made available to the public on the different Patent Office websites. In addition, they were uploaded and made available to the public on this website on 29 April 2020.
